The Hale and Hearty 7k is focused on celebrating healthy communities and happy and healthy places. This is fitting because the race starts and ends at the Riverside Arts Market (RAM) located under the Fuller Warren Bridge.
RAM is open and free to attend every Saturday from 10 am to 4pm from March to December and is accessible by foot, bike, car, or even boat. It features more than 100 vendors filling several long rows of the best of the best Arts market type items like cute clothing, jewelry, crafts, pottery, art, soaps, honey, home decor, pastries, cookies, flowers plus other fun stuff like street performers, live music, local food vendors, and even a full blown Farmers Market with fruits, veggies and more.
I’ll be honest, after I run 4.3 miles at 8 a.m. on a Saturday, the first thing on my mind will be food!
After I cross the finish line, I plan to head towards RAM and check out what’s available. I’m just not sure how I’ll decide between options like tacos, knish, crepes, pizza, and pastries. It will be a shame if I leave RAM hungry!
Plus with the Farmers Market on-site, you can stock up on good, healthy food to last you the entire week. Since it’s May, I’m excited because it’s just about season for watermelon, plums, raspberries, and rhubarb so these fruits should start popping up at RAM any week now.
Here’s a sneak peek of some of the vendors that will be waiting for you. (Yes, there are more vendors than the ones listed here)
